August 14, 2020 - September 15, 2020
2020 has been an unprecedented year. A worldwide pandemic forced many Americans into their homes for months and continues to hugely affect how we live and make our living; an egregious act of police brutality was met with massive protests across America (and beyond) and galvanized the anti-racist movement; and a lack of leadership has left many anxious and frightened of the future. For this year’s Members’ Exhibition, the Philadelphia Center for the Book wants to know: how have you responded to These Times? What work, in book form or not, have you made since the start of 2020? This work might be a direct reaction to the events of the world, or a response to your changing environment as you have sheltered-in-place. However world events have affected your life, they no doubt have influenced your creative process. We invite you to share this work in our first ever online exhibition.
