In collaboration with Books Through Bars (a Philadelphia prison book distribution organization) and the Philadelphia Shambhala Center.
Participants will learn how to make blank journals, which will then be donated to Books Through Bars — blank journals are enormously appreciated by folks in prison. There will also be a paperback book drive (prisoners often request books on spirituality). This is a good way for your already-read meditation books to stay in circulation. A drop box for books will be at the Shambhala Center on the day of the workshop and for the month preceding it. You may also contribute blank journals (soft cover) to the drop box. The workshop will include a brief guided contemplation on compassion. A modest donation will be requested for materials.
