Join us for a virtual artists’ talk with a selection of artists featured in this hybrid exhibition. All works are featured online at pcbexhibition.org. Most artist books, book objects, and a few other works are also exhibited at Swarthmore’s McCabe Library.

How do artists come by their ideas, their subject matter? Frequently there are one of two origins: the need to understand, to articulate something about one’s life, one’s identity, or the opposite, a passion to understand, to communicate something about and to the outside world. Both origins are evident in this exhibition. Sometimes, however, looking out generates introspection or the opposite, and this exhibition also reflects that entanglement.

Exhibition dates: October 23 – December 5, 2021
