Book Paper Scissors is an artists’ book fair, free and open to the public. This festive event features artists’ books, prints, handmade paper, zines, origami, blank books, and paper sculpture and jewelry.

Weave and Fold: learn paper weaving and to make a small book

Weave and Fold a FREE workshop for kids ages 5-11

Join us for a fun-filled hour making your own pamphlet book and paper weaving. There will be time and materials to start filling up the pages with stories and drawings. Adults are welcome to accompany their children in this workshop.

The workshop will be held in the Story Hour Room of the Central Children’s Department. The workshop is FREE and all materials will be provided.

About the Instructors:
Erin Malkowski currently works at the University of Pennsylvania’s Steven Miller Conservation Lab and the Wagner Free Institute of Science as the Assistant Book Conservation Technician. She also is an educator for University
of the Arts and in her spare time enjoys making books, prints and fiber art, as well as, freelance design. www.erinmalkowski.com

Kristin Littles currently works at the University of Pennsylvania’s Steven Miller Conservation Lab. She has been working there for 9 years; which has open her eyes to the book world that she didn’t know existed. In her spare time she spends time with other book lovers and learns what she can about the field.  She is a valuable Philadelphia Center for the Book volunteer and has facilitated a variety of children’s workshops.
