DESCRIPTION
Philadelphia Center for the Book is seeking member artists to participate in
Engaging Color: Philadelphia Center for the Book Member Exhibition.
The exhibition will be at the Parkway Central Library, Free Library of Philadelphia, 1901 Vine St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.
Members are invited to submit books and works on paper for which color is an essential visual/conceptual component. That will be a primary determinant for acceptance. In response to the chosen works, materials will be displayed from the Free Library of Philadelphia’s Art Department.
The maximum size for a member’s work is 10 x 12 inches (closed, if it’s a book). Applicants are encouraged to submit up to three works. Work in the exhibition will not be for sale, but artists can be contacted outside the gallery by interested buyers.
While submissions are open only to members of Philadelphia Center for the Book, anyone may become a member via our website before submission. There is no fee to submit.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Submissions must include the following and should be emailed to exhibitions@philadelphiacenterforthebook.org
- Application/Loan form
- Images of each submitted piece, up to 3 entries per member (These may be used for promotion purposes.)
- Short bio, with website and email address, in a Word document
IMPORTANT DATES
Submissions due: October 15, 2018
Selection notification via email: October 29, 2018
Art due (mail or delivery): by November 5, 2018 (directions will be sent with notification email)
Reception: TBA (information will be sent with notification email)
Exhibition dates: November 10, 2018 – January 9, 2019
